Strength training for women and men over 50, 60 and 70

Built for the body you have today.

The four things people ask us before their first session, and what we do about each.

“Am I too old to start?”

No. We coach adults from their 40s into their 80s, and many start after years away from exercise. Your first program begins where you are today, not where you were at 30.

“I have a bad knee, a sore back or a recent surgery.”

Tell us at your Starting Point Session. Your program is built around it, every exercise has an easier and a harder version, and we follow any limits from your doctor or physical therapist.

“I want to keep my muscle and bone.”

Strength training helps you hold on to muscle and bone through menopause, through weight loss and in the years after 60. Your InBody scans show whether you are keeping muscle.

“I want to stay independent.”

Getting up off the floor, carrying a suitcase up the stairs, staying steady on a trail. That is what the program trains, alongside the golf, tennis or pickleball you already play.

What is Alloy Personal Training Woodinville?

A small group personal training studio for adults 40 to 80 at 14381 Woodinville Redmond Rd NE, Ste H, in Woodinville, WA. One coach trains no more than six people, each on their own program, in 45-minute sessions. Memberships run $339 to $599 a month, and the first visit, a one-hour Starting Point Session, is free.

Am I too old to start strength training?

No. We coach adults from their 40s into their 80s, and many members start after decades away from exercise. Your program is written for where you are today, not where you were at 30, and your coach adjusts it session by session. Nobody is thrown into a class.

Is this group fitness?

No. Everyone in the room follows their own program; the group is who happens to be training at the same time, capped at six people per coach. You get personal-training attention at a small-group price.

How much does it cost?

Memberships are monthly: $339 for once a week, $499 for twice, $599 for three times. Programming, nutrition guidance and InBody scans are included; there is nothing extra to buy. Households training together get 10% off.

Is small group training worth the price?

You get a program written for you and a coach correcting your form every set, for about $46 to $78 a session. That is less than one-on-one training, and nutrition guidance and InBody scans are included rather than sold as extras.

What happens at the free Starting Point Session?

An hour with Maddie, our Director of Training. You see the studio and watch a session in progress, talk through your goals, nutrition and any injuries, then do an InBody body-composition scan and a movement assessment. We use it to design your program. No commitment, no hard sell.

Do you work with injuries, joint pain or a recent surgery?

Every day. Tell Maddie at your Starting Point Session; the movement screen shows us what to work around, and your program is built around it. Every exercise has an easier and a harder version, and if your doctor or physical therapist has given you limits, bring them and we'll follow them.

Will strength training help through menopause or while losing weight?

It helps you keep muscle and bone, which both tend to drop during menopause and while losing weight, including on weight-loss medication. Your InBody scans show whether you are keeping muscle, and nutrition guidance on protein is included. Your doctor manages any medication; we coach the training.

Can my spouse or a friend train with me?

Yes, and many do. You can train in the same sessions, each on your own program, and households get 10% off each membership.

Where do I park?

In the garage behind the Harvest Woodinville building at 14381 Woodinville Redmond Rd NE. Turn off NE 144th St into the drive between the two buildings. Parking is validated, free for up to 90 minutes.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday 6:00 AM–12:00 PM and 3:00 PM–7:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM–12:00 PM, closed Sunday.

How far is it from where I live?

Most members drive in, and parking is validated. Without traffic, Hollywood Hill is about 6 minutes away; English Hill, North Redmond and West Ridge about 7; Bear Creek about 9; and Cottage Lake 12 to 15.
